Happy Birthday Vividcon! No better way to celebrate than to flood fandom with vids. Thank you to my tireless beta [info]elynross  and my Mad Fold-in Friends for their input and encouragement.

The very first thing I did when I got home was show my (fabulously gay) roommate, who saw 300 with me in the theater, this vid. Because it is genius, and so are you. It still blows my mind. The concept, the color work, the framing, the motion, everything. If I ever make a vid half this smart in my life, I'll die a most happy and accomplished man.

(And as a sidenote, it was so wonderful meeting you! You are fantastic. *smooshes you*)

This vid pretty much shorts out my brain; I can't decide whether to watch the color, watch the motion, try to figure out how you did the track matte thing, or jump up and down with glee about the song choice. Thus far I have mostly ended up grinning like a lunatic.

I really, really love your brain.

In conclusion, female gaze + stylistic crap = WIN.

I do love that movie. I can't help it. It's just so pretty to watch. My god, those bodies...*happy sigh* :)

Your vid is really stunning. I don't know a thing about making them or the technical parts of it, but I know enough to see that is some fatastic work you did. Really damn good.

That was utterly fantastic. And not just Frank Miller needed biting. A certain men's magazine in this country (one of the ones dedicated to *coff* "fitness and health") declined to hire a designer colleague of mine some years ago because "we're not a gay magazine". This same magazine ran a "300 workout" recently.
